This model is mounted on a weatherproof steel frame, with the added convenience of being on wheels.
With a base measuring from 80-100cm in diameter, the dome is hand laid to a thickness of approx 10cm at the bottom, increasing to approx 20cm middle and top. This provides a generous cooking space which is approx 70% of the external dimensions. The floor is approx 4cm thick which is further insulated by approx. 5cm of expanded clay, making a total floor thickness approx. 9cm.
The double insulated model with stand and thermometer, is painted in a contemporary shade of red, however if you would like to change the colour you can simply use any exterior grade of masonry paint.
It is hand built by craftsmen, using clay to form the dome and is covered with a combination of insulating refractory clay, cement and is double insultated with both cork and rockwool, which help to retain heat within the oven for over twice the period of non insulated ovens; this has the benefit of using less wood and allowing roasting over periods of over 8 hours.
The stand is approx 80cm tall weights approx. 20 kg; it comes disassembled for ease of transport.
We will provide you with a full set of instructions that show you how to build the fire and light it - with many tips and techniques. There is also a guide on what wood is best to use along with some great recipes.
As the ovens are made to order - delivery will take approximately 2 weeks. WE WILL HOWEVER KEEP YOU INFORMED AT ALL STAGES.
